iLingo for iPod & iPhone
-
I dont remember my username/password. How do I get them?
If you still have your original installation file or CD, re-open it. That will allow you to re-install iLingo, and in so doing re-set your password & username. You will have to choose a username that is different than the one you originally entered. If youre going to use iLingo on your iPhone, we strongly recommend that you enter your phone number during the registration process; well send a text to that number that will include your username/password, which you can then store on your phone at all times.

Does iLingo work when Im out of the U.S.?
Absolutely! If youre using iLingo on an iPod, just fire it up and youre all set. If youre using iLingo on your iPhone, youre set too iPhones can work in international destinations. We did some homework, though, and would strongly advise you to sign up for a specific international plan with your carrier (AT&T) before you leave; otherwise your costs for international use (for iLingo or anything else) may skyrocket. Heres more from Apple and AT&T about using iPhones internationally: from this page look for the International Capabilities section, then click on Learn More.

Why am I getting an error message when I try to use iLingo on my iPhone?
Apple released a major firmware update to iPhone soon after it initially released the phones. iLingo works best with that updated firmware. If you received that message, you havent updated yet. Click here for detailed instructions from Apple on how to keep your firmware up to date.

I'm stuck at "Enable Disk Mode"!
Apple changed the layout of the iPod in a recent firmware update which required us to change our iPod detection routine. Please contact us for an updated installer. Make sure to mention which product you purchased (e.g. the iLingo Euro Pack or the iLingo Asia Pack)!
-
Why doesn't my iLingo 1.0 CD install?
Apple made some changes in Mac OS X 10.4 that causes the old version of the installer to bounce a few times, and then quit with no error. Please contact us for an update. Make sure to state whether you are using Windows or Mac OS X, and whether you purchased the iLingo Euro Pack or the iLingo Asia Pack.

Why do I see Talking Panda audio in my playlists?
The playlist installed to your iPod is not meant to be used directly, but due to current limitations in the iPod firmware we have no way to "hide" it.
To use a Talking Panda product:
- Go to the main menu (you may need to press the "Menu" button several times)
- Go to "Extras"
- Go to "Notes"
-
How do I make phrases stop repeating?
If phrases repeat continuously you must currently do the following prior to using your Talking Panda product:
- Go to the main menu (you may need to press the "Menu" button several times)
- Go to "Settings"
- Go to "Repeat" and click until it says "Off"
You may restore this setting after you have finished using your Talking Panda product.
-
Why don't I hear anything when I press "Click to Listen"?
In some cases, iTunes does not synchronize the audio immediately upon installation. Plugging in your iPod will usually take care of this. If you have chosen to synchronize selected playlists only, then you should add the Talking Panda product's playlist to this list (e.g. "[iLingo] EuroPack"). If it still does not work, drag the Talking Panda product'sfolder to iTunes to manually add the audio files, or try running the installer again.
-
Can I use other Notes products with a Talking Panda product?
Currently, due to limitations in the iPod Notes feature, Talking Panda products occupy the entire Notes folder. If a future iPod Software Updater addresses these issues, we will issue a free update. During the installation process, a numbered backup folder of your Notes (e.g. "Notes Backup 1") is created. To go back to your previous Notes content, see How do I uninstall a Talking Panda product?.

I'd like to buy a Talking Panda application as a gift. Can I do that online?
When you purchase a Talking Panda application from talkingpanda.com, there is a button at the end of
the process that says "download now!" If you're purchasing the application as a gift, ignore that button for now. After you've completed the billing process, you will receive an email confirming your purchase; in that email is a link that you can use to download or re-download the software whenever you (or your giftee) wish. Forward this link to your gift recipient (or print it out and paste it in a birthday card) and voila! they've got a new iPod application, thanks to the very kind and generous you.

Can I use more than one Talking Panda product?
Currently, due to limitations in the iPod Notes feature, you can only use one product at a time. To switch, just run the installer for the product you would like to use. If a future iPod Software Updater addresses these issues, we will issue a free update.
It's also possible to switch them manually by renaming the Notes folders on your iPod.If you navigate to the iPod from My Computer (Windows) or Finder (Mac OS X) you will see several folders that begin with "Notes". The "Notes" folder is the currently active product, the "Notes Backup 1" folder is the original contents of your iPod "Notes" folder, and other "Notes Backup" folders are created during the second, third, fourth, etc. installations of Talking Panda products. In each Talking Panda "Notes" folder, there will be a subfolder with the name of the product it contains.
To switch manually:
- Browse to your iPod from My Computer (Windows) or Finder (Mac OS X)
- Rename the current "Notes" folder to another name, such as "Notes AsiaPack", or whatever else you feel is appropriate. The name is not important.
- Find the "Notes Backup" folder for the product you would like to switch to, and rename that to "Notes".
SLAMs (Angels & Airwaves, Pink Spiders)
-
The SLAM is appearing on my iPod but not in iTunes. Why?
If your iPod is setup for manual synchronization, it installs directly to your iPod and not iTunes. If it's setup for automatic, it'll go to your iTunes library and then update your iPod.
-
Where does the SLAM appear on my iPod?
On an iPod video, the SLAM will appear under "Video Playlists" then "AVA." On the Nano, it will be under “Music” then “Playlists” then “AVA.”
-
Can I make the SLAM appear bigger on my Nano?
Yes. When you see “The Adventure SLAM” under Music/Playlists/AVA, just double-click (you can also do this once the SLAM has started playing) to make it full-screen.
